Apple has unveiled HomeView, a shared smart display that combines Siri-based assistance, FaceTime, media playback and control of connected-home accessories. The device uses a seven-inch Liquid Retina screen on an adjustable domed aluminum base, with separate wall-mounted versions intended for spaces such as entrances and hallways.

HomeView is designed to recognize as many as six people and present a personalized experience for each. Siri AI, powered by Apple Intelligence, can use relevant information from a paired iPhone or iPad to help retrieve calendar items and messages or answer requests. Apple says conversational sessions can synchronize with the Siri app on a user’s other devices, allowing an exchange to continue elsewhere. The AI features will initially be available in English, and Apple notes that usage limits may apply.

The display supports True Tone and ranges from a stated 500 nits in bright rooms down to 0.3 nits for bedside use. Some elements respond to proximity, showing additional information as a person approaches. Users can choose faces for photos, calendars, weather, interactive artwork and other views, with some changing over the course of a day.

For calls, HomeView includes a 12-megapixel Center Stage camera that adjusts framing as people move or join. Four beamforming microphones are intended to capture requests and reduce background noise. Audio hardware combines two full-range drivers in the display with a downward-firing woofer and two force-cancelling passive radiators in the base. Apple says computational processing balances the output and supports Spatial Audio.

The device also acts as a household communications point. It supports hands-free FaceTime, phone calls, messages and Apple’s Intercom feature. Find My can locate Apple devices, tagged items and people who have chosen to share their location. AirPlay can connect HomeView with HomePod, Apple TV 4K and compatible speakers.

HomeView includes Apple media experiences for music, podcasts, audiobooks, video and News audio stories. Compatible third-party audio and video applications can be supplied from an iPhone. Apple also describes continuity features for moving a song, call, video or recipe from an iPhone to the display. A cooking view can reformat supported recipes, while timers and Live Activities help keep tasks visible.

Apple says requests that need cloud processing use Private Cloud Compute on Apple silicon, and says personal information remains separated among household members. Those are the company’s privacy representations and will require assessment once the device and its supporting documentation are available for independent review. The reviewed product page did not provide a price or release date, so neither can be confirmed from the supplied evidence. What Apple has established is the shape of HomeView: a compact shared screen intended to make Siri AI, communications, entertainment and home controls available from a fixed point in the room.
